| Project 1: PC Home Computer Initiative (HCI) |
Lombard were contracted to deliver a managed service
to rollout PC’s to home based users across the UK. Key to
our selection for this project was our ability to respond rapidly.
We were given less than a week to resource the project, train the
helpdesk personnel and deploy engineers across the UK. Our rapid
response is testimony to our high skill levels and the significant
resource that we have at our disposal.
Elements of the service were: |
- Provision of a central help desk comprising five personnel
to book appointments and co-ordinate installations.
|
- Geographical coverage included the following postal code regions;
North West, North East, South West, London, Kent, Essex and Surrey
|
- Deployment of engineering resource to perform installations.
This resource consisted of thirty engineers based at key locations
throughout the UK.
|
- Five support engineers working as Fast Track engineers to deal
with issues UK wide.
|
- General technical support to all engineers on the project.
|
- Contracted to install and train approximately 4,500 users.
|
| The project was successfully completed and we were
congratulated on our performance with the highest install rates and
the top-performing engineer. The success of the project was due to: |
- Lombard ISL’s Service Delivery Managers: Managers have
a comprehensive understanding of this environment through previous
senior positions held in the IT industry coupled with the many
projects we manage on a day to day basis.
|
- Engineer skills: We have “on tap” an experienced
engineering resource (approximately 200 - 300 engineers) based
around the UK. These are proven IT professionals with the aptitude
and skills to complete the task professionally to service levels.
Importantly they will be based locally to the installs thus minimising
costs and optimizing response times (i.e. maximum installs per
day). Appendix I details the number of Service Operatives we have
available against specific Service Levels.
